Initial Recommendations
Aside from marking the artwork as sold, we recommend removing the BUY button from that particular artwork as well. To do so :
1. Head over to your Artworks section in your dashboard.
2. Find the piece that has been sold, hover over and click or tap on the edit button (the pencil icon).
3. In the Purchase URL section, erase the URL that you've input before.

Now the Buy Button should not appear for that specific artwork in your Virtual Exhibitions.

Here are three alternatives you can use when marking your artwork as sold:

Option 1

Use the description to indicate the piece was sold and no longer available

1. Head over to your Artworks section in your dashboard.

2. Find the piece that has been sold, hover over and click or tap on the edit button (the pencil icon).

3. In the description section, you could add the word “sold”, or whatever you consider is best to communicate the piece is no longer available for sale.

Once you saved the changes it will be visible on the description of the artwork in the virtual exhibition.

Option 2

Upload a transparent PNG to place near the artwork that was sold

You could create a sold sign as a PNG with transparent background. You may choose to make this a red dot, a label, the word SOLD (see example below).

1. Once you have created your PNG with transparent background, go to your artworks section and upload the image as you would with a regular artwork. Fill the mandatory fields and save.

2. Head over to My Virtual Exhibitions in your dashboard.

3. Go to your virtual exhibition and choose Curate.

4. Once in your Virtual Exhibition, take an unused slot (the numbered squares to place artworks), and select the "SOLD" Sign you just uploaded to your artworks.

5. Place it near the artwork, on top of it or wherever you decide looks best.

6. It's done! You can repeat this process as many times as you want. Uploading the Sold sign to your artworks as many times as you want to use it.

Option 3

Remove the artwork

You can always simply remove the artwork from the exhibit, and move it around so it looks well curated still. Although this is an option, it is not recommended since showing artworks has been sold may drive more interest from other collectors. But if you wish to do this, these are the steps:

1. Head over to your My Virtual Exhibitions section in your dashboard.

2. Find the virtual exhibition the artwork is on.

3. Select the Edit button

4. Go directly to Curate and enter the Virtual Exhibition.

5. Find the artwork in the Exhibition and on the right-hand side menu, click or tap on the bin icon of the artwork you want to remove.
