How To Place Artworks on a Personal Space Wall

With ArtPlacer, creating stunning visual representations of your Artworks in Personal Spaces has never been easier. In this article, you’ll learn how to place your Artworks on a wall, adjust them, add frames, and save your design to share with your clients.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access the Personal Spaces Section

1. Open the Sidebar, then go to My Creations > Personal Spaces.
   
   
2. Click (or tap) one of your previously uploaded Personal Spaces to select it.

2. Position and Adjust Your Artwork

1. Click (or tap) where it says Artworks at the bottom of your screen.
   
   
2. Upload your Artwork file, or drag and drop one that’s already uploaded, to position it within the wall.
   
   
3. Use the provided tools to resize or rotate your Artwork for the perfect fit.
   
   

Your Artworks adjust automatically to the real-life proportions of the wall, based on the wall size you entered when setting it up. Learn more in How To Set Up Angled Walls in Your Personal Space. 

When you select an Artwork, two buttons appear next to it:

• Replace Artwork: the image icon, which lets you swap the image for a different Artwork.
  
  
• Three dots (⋮):opens a menu with more options:
  • Duplicate Artwork: creates a copy of the Artwork.
    
    
  • Lean Against Wall: tilts the Artwork slightly so it looks like it’s resting against the wall. Once your Artwork is leaning, this option changes to Hang on Wall.
    
    
  • Remove Artwork: removes the Artwork from the space.
    
    

3. Make an Artwork Lean Against the Wall

Want your Artwork to look like it’s resting on a desk, a shelf, or the floor instead of hanging on the wall? Use the Lean Against Wall option.

1. Click (or tap) the Artwork to select it.
   
   
2. Click the three dots (⋮) next to the Artwork.
   
   
3. Select Lean Against Wall.
   
   

To hang the Artwork back on the wall, select it, click the three dots (⋮), and choose Hang on Wall.

Note: Lean Against Wall isn’t available on walls in perspective. On these walls, it appears grayed out.

4. Move and Edit Multiple Artworks at Once 

After adding multiple Artworks to a space, you can select and move several at the same time.

To do this, press Ctrl (Windows), Command (Mac), or Shift on your keyboard, and click the Artworks you want to select. Once selected, you’ll see on screen that they have all been grabbed. You don’t need to keep holding the key after selecting them.

This allows you to apply changes to multiple Artworks at once instead of editing them one by one, such as:

• Adding frames
• Adjusting lighting
• Editing shadows
• Changing position
  
  

5. Frame your Artworks.

To open the Frames selector, click the Frames button at the bottom of your screen.

Once you open the Frames selector, you’ll find everything you need to manage and customize your framing options:

• View All Available Frames: Browse through your complete Frame Library, including the default frames provided by ArtPlacer and the ones you’ve added or customized.
  
  
• Edit Existing Frames: Update materials, colors, sizes, and other properties without leaving the selector.
  
  
• Create New Frames: Design a new frame from scratch to expand your options instantly.
  
  

To add a frame to an Artwork, click on the Artwork you want to frame, then select the frame you want from the Frames panel. It will apply instantly.

Favorite Frames for Quick Access

If you find a frame you love, whether it’s a default one or a frame you just edited, hover over it and click the heart icon ❤️ to save it as a favorite. 

Then, right next to the Frames search bar, click My Favorites to view a dedicated section with all the frames you’ve added to favorites, perfect for quick selection in future projects.

6. Use the Bottom Controls to Customize Your Personal Space

The bottom options provide a range of tools to help you create the perfect presentation. Here’s a breakdown of what you can do:

• Lighting: Adjust the shadow spread, angle, and opacity, as well as the Artwork’s brightness and contrast for a more realistic look.
  
  
• Size: Control de sizes of your Artwork.
  
  
• Position: Align and evenly space multiple Artworks on the same wall for a polished presentation.
  
  

7. Finalize and Save
