Can I Create My Own Frame

Modified on Thu, Nov 13 at 12:30 PM

In ArtPlacer, you can enhance your Artworks within Room Mockups, Personal Spaces, and Art Show Planner using the Frame Builder tool. The Frame Builder allows you to design or edit frames directly while working in any of these sections, giving you full creative control over how your art is presented.

After adding your Artwork, click on it and select the Frames option at the bottom of the screen.
From there, you can:

  • Create a frame from scratch:

    1. Click Create to open the Frame Builder and start designing your frame.

    2. Choose the frame width, material, and color, and optionally add a mat, a floating frame, or a glass reflection.

    3. Name your design and save it for future use.

  • Edit a pre-made frame:

    1. Select one of ArtPlacer’s pre-made frames and click the pencil icon to open the Frame Builder.

    2. Customize it using the available options, then click Save or Save as new once you’re satisfied with the result.

⚠️ Please note that selecting Save will overwrite the original frame. To keep both the existing frame and your newly created one, choose Save as new instead.

Customization Options

Within the Frame Builder, you can personalize your frames with several adjustable options:

  • Frame width – modify the thickness of the frame

  • Material – select from available textures and finishes

  • Floating frame – add or remove a floating effect

  • Mat – include a mat and customize its width, type, and color

  • Glass reflection – enable or disable for a more realistic appearance

  • Name – assign a custom name to your frame design

Please note that while you can fully customize frames using these options, it is not possible to upload or add entirely new frame styles beyond those provided within the Frame Builder.

For detailed, step-by-step instructions on creating and saving custom frames, check out our guide: How to Create a Frame.

Showcasing framed Artworks on a blank background

To display your Artwork with just a frame and without showing a visible room or setting, use the Room Mockup titled “Background”. This mockup provides a clean, blank backdrop that focuses attention solely on your framed piece. To do so:

  1. Open Room Mockups. Navigate to the search bar on the top right corner and search for “Background”.

  2. Select the room titled “Background” from the results. This is a Smart space, so you can change the background color as desired. Keeping it white helps highlight the framed piece on its own, and it’s a perfect addition to product pages.

  1. Choose the Artwork you want to display, and frame it following the steps outlined in our guide How to Create a Frame.
