Artworks are the digital representations of the pieces you want to showcase using ArtPlacer. Uploading your Artworks is the first step to unlock all of the platform’s features.
With your uploaded Artworks, you’ll be able to:
- Create Room Mockups to visualize how your art looks in different interiors.
- Build Virtual Exhibitions that visitors can explore online.
- Use the Art Show Planner to organize your fair or show setup.
- Curate your own Discover Profile to present your work in a professional, cohesive way.
- Design stunning Presentations tailored to specific audiences.
- Customize your Personal Space to preview your art directly in your client’s room.
Without uploading your Artworks, you won’t be able to start using these features, so make this your first step!
Types of Artworks
You can upload different types of Artworks:
- 2D Artwork: Represents physical pieces such as drawings, paintings, prints and photographs. 2D Artworks can include information about the piece’s dimensions and the materials used.
- Sculpture: Represents sculptures. Sculpture Artworks can include information about the medium used to create the piece (3D print, hand sculpting or other), the materials used and the piece’s dimensions.
- Digital: Represents pieces in digital form. Digital Artworks can include information about the piece’s display size and the medium used (design, photography or other).
- Video: Represents video pieces. Video Artworks can include a public link to the video on YouTube or Vimeo, and information about the display size and the medium used to capture the video (digital, film or other).
What You Can Add to an Artwork
All Artworks can include information relevant to your clients, such as:
- An image that visually represents the piece
- The title

- The year in which it was created
- A price
- A description of 1000 characters or less

You can also add Artworks to Collections to keep them organized. Later, you can use collections to filter Artworks in the Artworks section.
Additionally, your Artworks can include URLs:
- To a third-party site where art enthusiasts can purchase the piece
- To a site where potential buyers can view more information
- To a site where buyers can purchase a non-fungible token (NFT)
Remove the Background of Your Image
After uploading your image, you can click Remove background (Beta) to cut out the background with one click. If you don’t like the result, you can undo it. It’s available for 2D Artwork and Sculpture, but not for GIF files. Learn more in How To Upload Artworks of Different Shapes (Round, Sculptures, etc.).
Keep Private Records With INVENTORY
Business accounts can also keep private records for each piece in the INVENTORY tab: Fair Market Value, Condition, Provenance and Notes. This information is private and never appears in your CSV, your widget, your Virtual Exhibitions or your Discover Profile. To see which plans include it, check Plans for Business.
Public and Private Artworks
Artworks can be public, which means other users can see them in your creations. To make an Artwork public or private, check or uncheck This artwork is public in the LISTING & LINKS tab. You can change an Artwork’s privacy at any time.
All the information you include about your Artworks can help you find them more easily when browsing the Artworks section.
